Book of the Month saved my reading life.

It’s no secret that I love reading. In my reading life, I tend to lean more towards chick lit books because they are easily accessible, and I don’t really know about the books that are out there in the adult fiction world.  I was stuck in a book rut.

I classify it as adult fiction because I am/was primarily a YA reader. I followed my favorite YA authors without paying much attention to other authors out there (except for Sarah Addison Allen. I Love her books! Read her!)

Then life happened. I went through a divorce that changed my reading life and me. I could no longer enjoy the angsty teenage novels and get lost in the dramatic love triangles. I wanted to yell at the characters that life could get worse and to get over themselves.

I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember and with everything else that was going on in my life, I could no longer enjoy my favorite pastime.

I was lost.

I needed a way to find more fiction authors and find my love of reading again. I needed a way to spark the flame of my love of reading.

I wanted to join a book box subscription. I love getting mail and having books delivered to me sounded wonderful. After some research,  I came across some awesome boxes, but they were not the ones for me. Then I found Book of the Month and it was exactly what I had looked for. My husband surprised me with a subscription for my birthday and I felt like a core piece of me was returned.

Book of the Month keeps it simple. Every month BOTM selects five books to choose from. You can add additional books for a reasonable price and they ship them to your doorsteps. The variety of authors and genres was exactly what I was looking for. They also offer an online discussion each month for your picks.

I’ve had my subscription for the last 6 months and I love it! This was the best gift I could have received because it gave me more than a book. It gave me a piece of myself back.

Thank you for reading my post! I hope it helped you in some way. Have you tried BOTM? What do you think? Share in the comments below.
